Why a Cheap BMX Bike is a Great Option for Kids
BMX is a great sport for kids because it is relatively cheap to get started, it is a great way to get exercise, and it is a lot of fun.
Cheap Kids BMX bikes are typically less expensive than other types of bicycles, making them a great option for kids who want to try out the sport without spending a lot of money. In addition to being affordable, BMX biking is also a great way for kids to get some exercise. BMX biking requires riders to use their legs, arms, and core muscles, which helps kids stay active and fit.
Last but not least, BMX biking is just plain fun! Kids can enjoy racing around with their friends or doing tricks and jumps in the skate park. There are many different ways to enjoy BMX biking, which makes it a great activity for kids of all ages.
Cheap doesn’t mean poor quality
In recent years, the quality of cheap kids BMX bikes has improved dramatically. This is thanks in part to advances in manufacturing techniques and materials, but also to the fact that companies are now catering specifically to the budget market.
That doesn’t mean that you should just buy the cheapest bike you can find, however. It’s still important to do your research and make sure you’re getting a good deal. In general, you can expect a decent cheap BMX bike to cost between £60 – £250. Be in mind that the lower priced options often are a BMX in sytle only.
If you’re willing to spend a little bit more, you can get an even better quality bike. For example, if you spend £400 on a bike, you can expect it to be lighter and have better components than a £200 bike.
So, don’t be afraid to save some money by buying a cheap BMX bike.
Warning on Cheap Kids BMX Bikes:
Ensuring the BMX Bike is Safe:
Having worked in bikes shops I want to be clear to parents looking to buy a cheap BMX bike. Please be careful, in the UK their are tight rules on bike safety. These rules apply to big sellers, less policed are bedroom eBay and Amazon sellers. They may not be selling a Kids BMX bike that has passed all the relevent safety checks due to being directly imported.
Making Sure you Know What the Cheap Kids BMX Bike Can and Cannot Do:
When you buy a cheap kids BMX be aware of the bikes limits. Look for the words “BMX Style” and “BMX Stunt Bike Stlye bike” these terms are for bikes that look like kids BMX bikes, but unlike true BMX bikes will not withstand stunts, jumps or even take stunt pegs.
These bikes are fine for riding on, but caution is advised on expectations. These “Kids BMX Style” bikes are not designed to do BMX tricks and stunts on, they could well not withstand jumps and therefore if you are wanting a Cheap BMX Bike that your child can jump, do tricks with or use in a way that puts stress on the bike then look for a “True Kids BMX Bike”
This being said a lot of kids want the look of a BMX and never really want to do tricks and jumps, so if your child is like this then a “Kids BMX Style bike” is perfectly fine.
